Our Story

Our story began in 1999 in Jamestown, Tennessee. After completing his education and residency, Dr. Sewell returned to his hometown with his wife, Paula, and their four children—Caitlin, Zachary, Emily, and Joshua—driven by a deep commitment to serve the community that raised him. From the very beginning, Dr. Sewell believed the people of Fentress County deserved exceptional care, and he set out to build a practice rooted in compassion, dedication, and excellence.

Starting out in a small office while also working at the local hospital, Dr. Sewell began caring for patients alongside many of the same team members who remain with him today. Even in those early years, he envisioned a larger space where patients would feel comfortable, respected, and confident in the care they received.

That vision became a reality in 2009, when the practice moved into its current building—designed to support high-quality, patient-centered care. Dr. Sewell continues to lead his practice by three guiding principles: there is no such thing as a silly question; if you need something, simply ask and we will take care of it; and if you are sick and our patient, you will be seen the same day.

After more than 20 years of serving Jamestown and the surrounding community, Dr. Sewell is deeply grateful for the trust and support of his patients. While slowing down from the fast pace of his early career, he now enjoys spending time with his wife, Paula, and their growing family of grandchildren—Tylie, River, Baylor, Lakelyn, Karsyn, Madelyn, Rhett, Clayton, Kai, and Max.
